Eco Honesty Box Review | AD

If you’ve been here before, you’ll have seen me mention Eco Honesty before. They’re a new online marketplace for all your favourite eco friendly products. They’ve got everything from home and cleaning to garden and pet products.

They’ve just started doing a collection of gift boxes on their site, and kindly sent one over to me. The box I’ll be showing you is there Peach Tea Edition “larger than life” gift box. You can pick this up for £44.95 on the Eco Honesty website, but has an RRP of £53.47.

*The products in this post were gifted by Eco Honesty in exchange for an honest review. All opinions stated are my own and haven’t been influenced by any third parties.

Eco Honesty Gift Box

I’ll start off by saying that the box sent to me is a little different to the one on the website. Mine was sent as a sort of ‘prototype’. So instead of the Forest Hog hand soap, there’s usually an Eco Egg laundry detergent egg. The box comes with 7 products in total. An Eco Egg, Cocoa Loco mango chocolate snacks, Truthpaste toothpaste, Suddy Nora shampoo bar & candle, Essential creams moisturising cream & lip balm.

Cocoa Loco Dark Chocolate Mango

The Cocoa Loco dark chocolate mango chunks are fairtrade and organic. The mango packs a sweet, chewy taste and the bitterness of the dark chocolate is a great contrast! I loved tucking into these tasty treats, and have already polished off the box. They’re definitely something I’ll be picking up again soon.

Forest Hog Orange Blossom liquid soap

I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with this soap. Since the box was sent out to me, Eco Honesty have informed me that they’ll no longer be stocking it in their gift boxes, but I wanted to talk about it all the same.

The product itself is great, you really only need a tiny amount for it to lather up really well. The scent isn’t my cup of tea personally as I found it a bit too sweet for my taste. The main problem I have with it is the lid. The cap doesn’t screw on properly and ideally, could do with a pump design rather than a screw on cap. Because of this, the bottle has a tendency to leak, which is what happened in my case.

While it’s not the end of the world, I probably won’t be looking to get my hands on another one of these in the future.

Flaming Nora Candle

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen me rave about this one! I love a good candle, especially when it smells as good as this one. It’s a cranberry, orange & cinnamon scent and is super sweet without being overpowering.

It’s made with soy wax, eco friendly, and vegan friendly. With a burn time of up to 25 hours and 125ml in size.

Suddy Nora Shampoo Bar

This shampoo bar is completely plastic free, 100% naturally derived ingredients, and vegan friendly. The bar included in my gift box is the lavender and almond oil scent. The lavender scent is subdued rather than being overpowering and comes in the cutest paper wrapping!

I haven’t had the chance to use this one yet so I can’t speak for it’s effectiveness. I’m hoping it’ll be good for my dry, damaged hair!

Essential Creams Moisturising Lotion & Lip Balm

If you know me, you know I love a good moisturiser. This is a peach and passionflower scent, though I can’t say I smell much of that personally. While the scent isn’t my favourite, the formula is incredible. It’s thick, glides across the skin easily, and a little goes a long way.

The moisturiser is a 50ml pot designed to be a facial moisturiser. Though I’ve been using it on my tattoos too because it’s so moisturising. This is rich in Vitamin A and C, restores water balance and brightens the skin.

I also got sent one of their lip balms in a strawberry flavour. It’s a 10ml tin and is made with 100% natural ingredients. This includes organic Shea, Cocoa, and Kokum butter.

Truthpaste Natural Toothpaste

I’ve managed to give this one a try and it’s easily one of the nicest natural toothpastes I’ve tried. A lot of them have a strong baking soda taste, which is disgusting frankly. But not this one! It’s also one of the larger pots of natural toothpastes I’ve seen before.

This tub is 120g and is the original Fennel flavour. There’s also a Peppermint & Wintergreen flavour, as well as a variety of kids flavours. The consistency is the same as most natural toothpastes. It’s thicker than the stuff in the average tube, but not too thick for a brushing paste.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I think the Eco Honesty gift box is great! All of the products are unique in their own way and they’ve clearly given a lot of thought into what they include in the boxes. I especially love that they don’t overcharge you for what you get, which is all too common with eco friendly products.

Eco Honesty are transparent about their pricing structure and the products they stock, which is the main reason I agreed to collaborate with them in the first place.
